I have horrible infected teeth, but have no dental insurance

I went to the dentist and got quoted $2600 (without insurance) for all the work that needs to be done. So that isn't happening. But I wonder if I got insurance and then went back if it would be more affordable?

Correct if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that insurances have high deductibles around that range, meaning I would still be paying for most, if not all, with or without insurance. So I think there's just no point in me getting insurance for this.
