I don’t like your hat – A FTC Story

Let me just preface this little story with the fact that I have been a Texans fan since their inception into the league, all whilst living in NY. 99% of the time around here you'll come across the obvious Jets and Giants fans with their jerseys, hats, etc. For some reason as well there's an abundance of Boomer Cowgirl fans up here too, bandwagoners from their heyday.

But today – today was quite different.

I was in Target grabbing something quick a few hours after the game and of course, rocking my Texans hat.

I make my way to the self checkout, turn to get in line and some dude in front of me is wearing a Colts hat. I do a double take to make sure it's not some dude that just likes ponies or something and sure as hell, it's a goddamn Colts hat.

At this point, I am like, I gotta say something. So I go up next to him and say "I don't like your hat", he looks at me at smirks and replies "I don't like your hat either." We both laugh and then he says "I do want your QB though, he's amazing. Richardson sucks and is hurt again, dudes gotta learn how to slide or something."

Self checkouts start opening up and we split ways but from this stupid little back and forth, I realize this is the first time any fan of another team has expressed their jealousy of a QB on the Texans. I know we've all been talking about this non stop, about how Stroud is "it" but it just feels so good to have a franchise QB.

I was so down and out for all of the Easterby fuckery, Hopkins trade and just overall direction of the team I have loved since I was 12 (now 33). But now, between Caserio's moves and Ryans/Slowik showing competence, and the teams performance, I am just happy to not feel what I've felt for a better part of the whole organizations existence. We have the foundations to be monster of a team in the near future. The kool aid ain't tainted, it's just plain ol' kool aid and keep drinking it!
