Huge trash fire burning in at northeast Houston recycling business

HOUSTON — Houston firefighters are battling a big trash fire in northeast Houston.
The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, reportedly at Independent Texas Recyclers on Irvington Boulevard near the Hardy Toll Road.
It’s going to take awhile to get the flames under control, so you should avoid the area if possible. HPD officers are on the scene assisting with traffic.
No word yet on injuries.
