HPD spokesman states no uptick in crime and car break ins at Memorial Park yet shimmering parking spaces of daily swept up broken window glass would tell different story.

As a daily user of Memorial Park one cannot help but see (if paying attention) heaps of shattered window glass throughout the park. Huge increase in major parking areas and through out the perimeter. Most victims of car burglaries don’t file reports and just drive off, because waiting for police even to file report over phone would take forever.

DO NOT leave anything visible in your car, and whatever you do DO NOT park and THEN put your valuables into trunk and walk off. Do that before coming to park. There are regular perps (reported) who are there daily, waiting in bushes and hidden behind trees on outer trail who watch you hide or lock your valuables and you will come back to a burglarized vehicle.
