HPD going back on ICE Collaboration, did Whitmire lie?

I thought John Whitmire said it wasn't the job of HPD to carry out the duties of Immigration. It's looking like he is a MAGA collaborator more by the day. Don't think this spells good news for the future of Houston when they are going after people here legally at this point. It seems the Democrats are largely unwilling to make moves against the people in their party working for the other side.
