How’s the mainframe development scene around here?

I’m a python developer in my late twenties and I’ve recently taken an interest in coding with old school programming languages such as cobol.

Are entry level mainframe developer jobs nonexistent here? All the posted jobs I’ve seen are only hiring senior devs.
