Hows life making $88k in Houston?

Im from the east coast — start my job ($88K base salary + health benefits) in Houston in a couple of weeks. For anyone making around the same range as me (or has been living here for many years)…hows life?

For some more context: new college grad (masters degree), single, no debt, don't own a car (yes i know it sucks), just moved into an apartment where rent is $885, and grew up poor if that matters.
