How’s a Cypress house?

By best friend is about to buy a house in Cypress, built in 1982, has minor roof issues professionally estimated, minor plumbing issues professionally estimated and minor electric issues professionally estimated, in a all cash deal. The house is little under 2k sqft and lot is 6k Sq feet. He's extremely tense and nervous since he's putting all his life savings in this house and ideally intends to renovate and sell in a year or two. The price is in the range of 240 to 250. What do you folks think about the deal and what do you think about Cypress, you guys think the housing prices will remain fairly stable for Cypress?

I know I know. No one can predict the future but still just asking from a houstonian's perspective or better from Cypress resident's perspective?
