How to negotiate price of apartment with landlord?

I'm switching units soon because my unit was burglarized last week. Im going apartment hunting with a landlord tomorro morning. I dont want the price to increase. How do I negotiate a lower price with the landlord? I've been a resident at these apartments for 3 years if that helps
