How to get rid of crane flies

Just moved here and was greatly horrified at my first sighting of a crane fly. I know they’re harmless, but I’m scared of bugs and really hate them flying into my apartment. I’ve sprayed Spectracide all over my front door and put a lavender scent outside, but it doesn’t seem to affect these damn crane flies.

Since it’s an apartment, I can’t turn off the outside light. Does anything work to deter these things from coming near my door and inside my apartment?
