How to find a photographer for a kid’s party?

Roast me for being excessive or whatever, but I would like to hire a photographer for just a couple hours. How do I go about finding a local photographer for family gatherings, like birthday parties? I get so caught up taking the photos that I forget to enjoy myself (also, I never get into any photos myself, which is a typical mom fail). Given the nature of the event (casual and short) I do not want to hire someone who does wedding photography or requires a big commitment and large budget.
