How strict is DPS on residency documents for ID?
Sorry if this is a dumb question I barely know how this stuff works.
I have an appointment set to get an ID at Gessner DPS. I’m 18 next month and I don’t think I have anything for proof of residency. I have my SSN & birth certificate. I just moved to another house with someone who is not my legal guardian but is taking care of me. I don’t get any mail to my name. He’s in a bad mood rn and won’t help me figure out if there’s anything he has that could help me (I don’t know how bills and stuff work so I’m not sure if my name would be anywhere on there to prove residency, or if they would ask for proof of guardianship etc).
My only school transcript is from freshman year and I lived in California at the time. I think I might have a transcript somewhere from junior year but the DPS site says that I need a transcript from this year which I don’t have. My situation with insurance is weird and I don’t have any documents related to it, nor do I have medical bills or anything else.
Could I just bring whatever I have that’s closest to proof of residency and explain my situation to them or are they very strict with things like this?
