How safe is the renewables industry

I am looking to jump jobs to a different industry in the engineering field, solar and wind farms. I am skeptical of working for companies with all their eggs in one basket, in case we hit a recession and work stops coming in.

Anybody got some insight or considerations for how recession-proof is renewable construction is?
