How much do I have to make to be able to support myself, a 16 yo girl and a 13 yo boy that will both be going to high school in Houston?

Title says it all. I am currently in the military and will be out by the summer of 2025. My parents passed so I will have to take my two younger siblings in once I get out from the military and get everything situated. I plan to go to college for electrical engineering and computer science for four or five years and will find a side hustle to support myself and my siblings.

For people with kids, can you please share with me your experience of what it's like to raise your kids in Houston, what is your family income, how many kids you have, and if you feel well compensated with your family income.
