How has Houston changed since 2016?

Backstory I was 20 when I moved out of Houston in 2016. My mom and dad still live in houston (Inwood Area) and I am moving back with them. I am excited and scared because my memory of Houston was not fond. Grew up in a big crime, poverty area. What are your opinions? Has Houston gone downhill since 2016, or changed for the better?
