How good is taking accomodation at 8181 Medcenter(fannin st.) for UH grad students

I am international student coming to University of houston this july. Didnt wanna stay on campus so gone through different places in Houston which might be safe to stay. Can someone from houston help me on which area is suitable to stay and if 8181 meecenter at (fannin st.) is a good option for me to stay and commute to University. Getting mixed reviews from google so thought to ask it here as people here are mostly from houston and they can help me more. Thank you in advance
