How far do you take the boil water advisory?

At minimum is says drinking water and water you cook with. What about water used to wash your hands or dishes? How do you decontaminate your refrigerator with water and ice in the door? What about using dishwasher? I haven’t been subject to many water boiling advisories in the past and mostly ignored them.
