How does the software engineer job market in Houston look for those living/working in the area?

I'm considering a move to Houston in May-ish of 2024 and am curious about what may be available to me. I've done some looking on LinkedIn and I see a lot of Oil and Gas companies hiring engineers (no surprise, of course).

Are any other industries doing well in Houston with demand for software engineers?

I'm seeing 123k/year as the median on levels.fyi, is this accurate from anecdotal evidence?

Are most places hybrid, WFH, 100% on prem?

and of course any other information one might want to share!

For frame of reference I have ~2YOE in software engineering in the emergency management space and a BS in Computer Science currently doing ~80K TC in MCOL Midwest.
