How do you prevent car break-ins?

Car got broken in. HPD was useless. Apartment management won't help or let me do anything about it. What's the point of cameras and paying? I just moved in last week too.

Anyway I'm fortunate enough that I still have 4 wheels and a car. Was gonna go all out and get a wheel lock, brake lock, dash cam facing in and out to record at all times. Not sure if that's even helpful but would like to hear yalls advice. First time living alone in my early 20's and have no guidance about this. Thanks in advance

Also – I do know the "no valuables in car" rule. They stole my coins, but didn't really steal anything else. Kind of weird too. Why would they break in and not take the car or at least everything inside even if it's invaluable?
