How do I get anything done at the tax collectors office?

I got speciality plates that arrived three weeks ago. I responded to the email they sent me about them the same hour. They never answer the phone and after waiting on hold for two hours one day someone responded saying I needed to wait on some email. Frustrating because I’d rather just get it done with a phone call. The email came two days later where they asked for a mailing address to send them because they weren’t doing in person transactions. Then a week later I get another email asking my availability to come pick them up in person from a completely different person. I responded literally a minute later none of them will answer their phones or respond to emails in a timely manner.

I don’t see a place to make an appointment online anywhere and I move in two days. I ordered these plates months ago not knowing I’d end up moving.

Has anyone had success with just doing a walk in? They already told me where they are. I’m just not understanding all this craziness.

If I’d known it’d be difficult I would’ve never even bothered buying speciality plates ffs.
