How bad is the job market for entry level jobs in Houston?
Sometimes when I see people's resumes from college, they have previous work experience in retail or fast food. Right now I'm an incoming freshman @ UH looking for a job, any job, over the summer because I feel if you don't have those entry level grunt jobs on your resume when you are applying to white collar work such as Junior level software developer positions, you seem like a coddled/lazy/unhirable person.
These are just my views, and I'm anxious because I'm afraid that I'll get ghosted by retail/fast food jobs. I applied to like 7 jobs today and I heard you need like 100 job applications to get 1 interview nowadays. I don't really have any experience on my resume, so it's gonna make it harder.
