How are wait times for TSA Pre-Check and the related?

Interviews** Work wants me to travel, was thinking of renewing my Passport and doing TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry for the first time. I know you can do walk-ins or appointments a month out, was wondering if trying the walk-in route would be doable.
