Houston’s legendary Firehouse Saloon destroyed in overnight fire

HOUSTON — The building that once housed The Firehouse Saloon was destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday, June 17.

Houston firefighters were called to the legendary honky-tonk along the Southwest Freeway, not far from the Galleria area, before 2 a.m.

Huge flames were seen shooting from the building, which had been in operation for nearly three decades before its closure due to Covid-19 in early 2020.…
