Houston’s George Bush International Airport (IAH) to Debut New Terminal Wing With Two Local Restaurants

IAH’s new Terminal D-West Pier is preparing for outposts of the Annie Café & Bar, the Woodlands’s brunch haven, the Kitchen, and a new spa
Houston’s George Bush International Airport, best known as Bush or IAH, is gearing up to open its D-West Pier, an expanded wing of terminal D that will make way for more travelers and Houston food, according to a release.
The airport is slated to open 26 new concessions, including outposts of the Annie Café & Bar, a Berg Hospitality restaurant originally located in Uptown, and the Kitchen, a Woodlands restaurant known for its comfort food dishes and brunch. Stalls from national chains like Urban Crave, Jamba Juice, Einstein Bagels, and Popeyes, plus new spa service, Be Relax, a Lego store, and a market filled with souvenirs and gifts made by Texas businesses and artists will also join the new restaurants. Together, the new terminal and its businesses are expected to generate $116 million in revenue and create nearly 400 jobs for the Houston airports over the next decade.
Meanwhile, Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, the city’s smaller and more storied airport, is also planning more dining options. Following its February grand opening of on-site locations of Galveston’s the Spot and the Spot Bar, Houston ice cream shop Fat Cat Creamery, and Dallas chain Velvet Taco, Hobby airport representatives announced that it would also open airport locations of the Rustic, the Dallas-owned restaurant, bar, and live music venue, and local coffee shop Throughgood Coffee, which is slated for the airport’s pre-security ticketing lobby. Both will open later this year and are just two of 20 concepts the airport plans to open through 2025.
Hobby will make way for Killen’s BBQ, Common Bond Café, Yard House, and SpindleTap Brewery in the fall, and Dish Society, Landry’s Seafood House, Pink’s Pizza, Wendy’s, and Jersey Mike’s in spring 2025.
