Houston Zoo this Sun terrible idea?

Have never been but reading horror stories about parking. Would be driving down from Spring.

Is the Zoo a terrible idea this Sunday 9th?

Also anyone know if they are lax about entry times (ie if I reserve for 2pm but am 1-2 hrs late?)
