Houston, We Have a Bojangles

The fried chicken chain and its next-level buttermilk biscuits are in the Houston area, with new locations in Richmond and Spring
Houston has earned quite a reputation for its fried chicken, with multiple takes from different cuisines, including renditions that lean on Palestinian, Korean, and Indian spices. But one version it lacked was from one of the country’s most famous chains — until now.
Bojangles, a Southern fried chicken chain based in Charlotte, North Carolina, opened its first Houston area location in Richmond (19230 W Bellfort Boulevard) on January 21, and three new locations are headed to the region later this year. Its Spring location (6719 N Grand Parkway) opens on Tuesday, February 4, followed by an outpost in Webster (510 W Bay Area Boulevard) and Tomball (13205 N. Grand Parkway West). More are planned for the future. Google notes another location is headed to Baytown (8239 N Highway 146).

A representative for the company says Bojangles is expanding into a national brand and that “Houston is a prime market for growth.”
“The city’s diverse and food-loving population makes it an ideal place to introduce Bojangles’ signature Southern flavors, bold seasonings, and made-from-scratch menu items,” a representative said in an email to Eater.
Hand-breaded fried chicken, its “legendary” iced tea, fixins’ like dirty rice and mac and cheese, and buttermilk biscuits made with nearly 50 steps. Diners will also find a mix of traditional and newer offerings, including salads, lemonade, and milkshakes.
Bojangles currently has more than 800 locations across 19 states, including seven locations spread throughout Texas in the Dallas, San Antonio, Waco, and now Houston areas.
