Houston vs Austin gay scene?

Hi everyone,

I’m an early-mid 20s UT grad that stayed in Austin for a few years after college. My lease is coming up, and I have a good job offer at a company in Houston. The job probably isn’t GREAT enough for me to move no questions asked (it’s basically the same compensation as mine rn just with a lot more upward growth potential), but I’ve also already been wanting to move to a new city for a change the last couple months, and my lease is coming up.

How is the gay scene/amount of gays/dating scene/acceptance of gays in Houston?

I guess I’ve always had in my mind that Austin was the liberal/fun city for young gays in Texas + a lot more accepting, but I’m sure a lot of that is just stereotypes I’ve had in my head.

Im not even super into the gay scene now, but it’s nice knowing there’s several always-fun/busy gay clubs when I want to go, and that I didn’t feel weird holding past bf’s hands in public. And that there’s a good sized dating pool in my age range

Would Houston be similar/better/worse? I know it’s a much larger city on paper, I just have never pictured it as an ideal place for a single gay guy to live
