Houston should become a canal city (at least, downtown it should)

Hi everyone I know this is a random post but I wanted to make it because I've been watching a lot of urban planning videos. I was just realizing the Houston TX would be the perfect place to build an "American Amsterdam" sort of speak. Imagine the San Antonio Riverwalk, but over serval city blocks encircling downtown. Because it's close to the gulf it wouldn't be hard to get water for this project. The canals of houston could act as a way to make the city more walkable, draw tourism, increase desirability, and perhaps even act as a flood control.

Anyway, I want to see what others think of this fantasy lmao. Wouldn't it be amazing?
