Houston School – Best Options?

We are moving down to the Houston area in two months. We have to be in the inner loop due to the proximity to the Medical Center, so we are confined to looking at homes in that area. We also want to be out of the flood zones, of course. Our budget caps out at $800K.

Bellaire seems to have the best mix of elementary, middle, and high schools, particularly Pershing and Bellaire High. I know a lot of people in the inner loop also turn to private school as an alternative to public.

Does anyone know the true quality of the schools in Bel Air? The home we’re looking at right now is currently zoned to Lovett elementary, Pershing middle and Bellaire high school. Any experience with those schools anyone?

Any insight into school zones in the inner loop would be greatly valued and appreciated!
