Houston, San Antonio cos. propose crude oil pipeline connecting Memphis and Mississippi

Two Texas-based companies have proposed a crude oil pipeline that would run nearly 45 miles from Memphis, Tennessee, to Marshall County, Mississippi.

The Byhalia Connection pipeline — a joint venture between Houston-based Plains All American Pipeline LP (NYSE: PAA) and San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. (NYSE: VLO) — would be constructed and operated by a subsidiary of Plains. It would connect the two existing crude oil pipelines in the area: Diamond Pipeline and the Capline Pipeline.
