Houston Rockets to hire Dallas Mavericks’ Stephen Silas as head coach, reports say

The Houston Rockets reportedly have decided on a new head coach to replace Mike D’Antoni.

The team has reached an agreement with Stephen Silas, assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, to take over the role, sources told multiple media outlets, including the Houston Chronicle, ESPN, USA Today Sports and others. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban retweeted the ESPN story the evening of Oct. 28, adding, “CONGRATS COACH Silas !”
