Houston Public Library: great for ebooks, EXCEPT FOR (question follows)
First, let me say the nice part. Houston Public Library has an excellent collection of ebooks (through Overdrive) and I use it. You should, too. Ok, now to the question.
So, I can’t use Axis 360, because it is an iPhone app and only works in Portrait mode. My iPad case (keyboard) is strictly Landscape mode, and won’t work at all in Portrait. So using the Axis 360 app is out.
This leaves me with ePub, which in theory I could get into my kindle app with some effort. Great! When I try it (on both iOS and on Winders), I get a ‘downloading (URLLink.ascm)’ dialog, which i click, which helpfully downloads something that is NOT an ePub.
Anyway if anyone’s gotten this working, let me know. My real problem is: I want to read Axis360 books on my ipad in landscape mode because a lot of things are ONLY available on Axis360.
I assure you this is not an ad for Axis360, though I suppose this is an ad for the Houston Public Library. Good job, HPL.
