Houston nonprofit New Hope Housing breaks ground on affordable housing in East End

New Hope Housing Inc., a Houston-based nonprofit that provides affordable, permanent housing with support services, has broken ground on its latest project, dubbed Avenue J.

The nonprofit closed on the land, 1.37 acres at 5220 Avenue J in the East End, on June 23 and gave Camden Builders the notice to proceed, New Hope Housing told the Houston Business Journal. New Hope Housing celebrated the groundbreaking with public officials and neighborhood stakeholders on June 25.
