Houston new home construction issue in EaDo

Hello, I am buying a new construction home in Houston (EaDo) and in the contract I had pre-engineered hardwood to be installed. More even I paid an extra charge to change carpet to hardwood.

What was my surprise? The builder installed vinyl instead of hardwood. Price difference we are going from $5.75/sqft to $2.49/sqft therefore a major change and cost difference.

I have already requested to change it and/or to be compensated. I hope this works.

Has anyone had similar cases where they where installed lower quality items in the house?

Can anyone recommend a Texas (Houston) construction lawyer? It should be an easy case, as they have already acknowledged the change, but it is the time I will have to waste going after them… and it is unfair how the cheat people!
