Houston ISD begins ‘District of Innovation’ steps, pauses plans for new teacher evaluation system
The state approved board of managers passed the resolution to initiate the District of Innovation process during a Sept. 7 meeting. Although specifics are still up in the air, this designation would allow the district to bypass state laws regarding the length of the school year and teacher certifications, among others.
