Houston is now the largest urban area in Texas per the Census Bureau.

Today the Census Bureau released new urban area figures for the first time in a decade: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/12/29/2022-28286/2020-census-qualifying-urban-areas-and-final-criteria-clarifications.

Houston has 5,853,575 people in its urban area compared to 5,732,354 people for Dallas.
