Houston housing increasingly unaffordable, researchers say

Honestly I do enjoy property value going up. I have 1 house in Houston, 2 houses in states.
But Really, I don't like Assessment value going up so much.
Everyone I know have their property tax assessment value risen up 10% with homestead,
Without homestead it's more like 36%~60% increase 2022.
Not only that. Your insurance rate goes up to. My home doesn't need 700K to rebuild.
That is just rediculous. Since Houston tax rate is pretty high already 1.8%+ MUD, median tax is
around 2.3%. I know, some OLD neighbors don't pay MUD. Most of the places without MUD is a
rural area with no development.
I've seen some people with fixed income get into trouble because of their property tax raise
as well as insurance rate. Not everony can afford all those extra costs like me.
If they are raising assessment in the times like these, they should lower the tax rate.
I hope they are not having a party with increased tax revenues.
