Houston has TWO Sumo Wrestling National Champions

Recently my Sumo dojo tried to get two Houston wrestlers to compete in Florida for the Sumo Nationals and them came home as NATIONAL CHAMPIONS One of them is in our Sumo Dojo (Shogeki Sumo) and recently EARNED the right to represent the USA at the World Championships sanctioned by the ISF in Japan which will be in October of this year (2023) because she got 1st Place in her division. She is only a 16-year-old youth competitor but has a background in folk & Greco-style wrestling and pillars of the amateur sumo community all agreed she has a bright future as a competitor. We train in O Athletik in Heights. The other National Champion is another young woman who currently trains at War Training Center (MMA gym). She is also awesome and has booked her flights for Japan already! Hopefully, soon we bring home two WORLD CHAMPIONS submitted by /u/JackieScamm |
