Houston Farmers Market Confuses Me

For a long time I've wanted to go to the Houston Farmers Market and I finally ended up going this afternoon. However I'm honestly a little perplexed why it's so highly reviewed. I'd say 80 percent of the stalls sell the same produce and they all have exhorbant pricing compared to a regular grocery store. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I saw zero difference in quality compared to HEB and the exotic fruit was significantly pricier than Hong Kong Market or Fiesta. I was interested in getting some cherimoya, but I was being told 16 dollars a pound from multiple vendors, which is honestly a crazy price. In fairness, there were some unique stalls selling plants or dried spices, but the overall experience was generic. Not trying to be negative, but I'm interested if I just went at a bad time of the year.
