Houston Energy Companies

Anyone have any recommendations? I tried doing it on my own last time and didn't realize that by upgrading to a 1000kwh plan it erased my "new customer" status and thus billed me an extra $40-$60 a month. If anyone has any helpful tips or any company that has been good this year please let me know. Thank you.
