Houston conspiracy

I live near south Pasadena, but just unincorporated Houston. We have many milk tea places about. We know the lady that used to own one, but she sold. That's fine. They remodeled. Then every other one in our area remodeled, too. In the exact same way. I went into the fifth one tonight, that looked exactly the same. I asked the kid behind the counter, somewhat jokingly, who owns all these places??? The "owner" was right there, and I said, "oh I'm just making a joke, all the ones in the area have gone through the same exact remodeling". She smiled and said , "must be a new fashion."

That makes me even more suspicious!!!

I'm new to the area, and relatively new to Houston. Any other fun crazy local crackpot conspiracies?
