Houston coffee superstar David Buehrer closing Morningstar, Tropicales

David Buehrer is closing two ventures for good. 

Morningstar, a coffee-and-doughnuts shop at 4721 N. Main St. in the Heights, will close on Dec. 28, and Tropicales, an all-day tropical-inspired café at 2132 Bissonnet St., is permanently closed, a representative confirmed. 

Tropicales initially shuttered temporarily on March 17, when Harris County banned dine-in service at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
