Houston City Council to vote on $15M rental-assistance program

The Houston City Council will vote on a $15 million rental-assistance program aimed to help Houstonians who have fallen behind on rent payments in April and May during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The program, if passed, is expected to assist between 7,000 to 13,000 Houstonians, Mayor Sylvester Turner said. Council members will vote during their meeting Wednesday, May 6.
