Houston-based co. to cut jobs at Port Neches plant as it rebuilds from explosion

Houston-based TPC Group Inc. plans to cut around 100 jobs at its facility in Port Neches, Texas, according to media reports.

The Beaumont Enterprise and Reuters report that the company plans to stop chemical production at the facility for at least three to five years following a major explosion in November. The site will remain a terminal and distribution point during that time.

As such, the company plans to significantly reduce the number of employees, which is currently 183, per the Enterprise.…
