Houston bars ordered to close, restaurant access limited amid coronavirus fears
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced March 16 that all bars and clubs have been ordered to close starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, and must remain closed for 15 days in light of the deadly COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. Additionally, all restaurants have been ordered to close for in-house dining and are only able to provide food for pick-up or delivery.
The order will also apply to businesses in the city of Houston, Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed during a March 16 press conference.
