Houston bakery owner advocates getting to know local lawmakers to survive disasters like coronavirus

Janice Jucker, co-owner of Three Brothers Bakery, considers herself a disaster expert. She’s quick to rattle off all Three Brothers has gone through: four floods, a fire and a hurricane. 

Financially, however, the coronavirus pandemic is the hardest thing yet she’s had to face. Normally, she’ll tell people to support their local disaster zones by shopping at businesses located in affected areas — that’s difficult now, when the entire world is a disaster zone, Jucker said.
