Houston Astros reportedly laying off, furloughing employees

The Houston Astros told full-time employees Oct. 27 that there would be layoffs and furloughs, the Houston Chronicle reports.

One of the Chronicle’s sources said there were more furloughs than layoffs, but the number of affected employees was not clear. Baseball operations, business operations and the Astros’ two owned minor league affiliates in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Fayetteville, North Carolina, are all affected, per the Chronicle.
