Houston adds jobs in June but lags behind pre-pandemic employment levels
Tens of thousands of jobs were added in the greater Houston area during the month of June, but workers across the Bayou City continue to feel the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Houston metro region added 55,000 total nonfarm jobs during June, according to data the Texas Workforce Commission and Bureau of Labor Statistics released July 17. From April to May, the Houston metro region had added 78,200 jobs.
