Housing market in (greater) Houston

Wife and I are considering buying a house in the next few months was wondering about Cleveland / other greater houston areas? We’ve seen quite a few houses like this : https://s.hartech.io/d92TgYTbkr4 along with those subdivision houses showing up all over that are very attractive with our budget (~270k) and just wanted some opinions from people who know the area way better. No commuting worries but family lives in Houston so I’m trying to stay within 2 hours in case of emergency.
