Hot Take: Most of the negative feelings about this draft are due to this draft being uneventful overall, not just for the Texans
Overall this draft felt very regular and uneventful. The biggest story coming out is whatever the falcons are doing. There were no big player trades, few surprises outside the Falcons, and for the most part, there weren't many player slides that lasted more than about 10-15 spots. So typical fringe 1st/2nd round type stuff. Even with draft pick trades, the biggest move was the chiefs going up 4 spots to get Xavier Worthy. The bears made franchise altering moves, but none of it was surprising at all. We knew for years that Caleb would go #1.
The Texans might have missed out on players fans had their eyes on, but they still made some really good pickups. I think the issue has just gotten blown out of proportion bc this draft itself was disappointing in terms of action, rather than us actually making bad moves. But that’s not to say things couldn’t have potentially been better, just that people feel worse than they probably should.
